Hello my little kittens
Now I know it has been a whole weekend without hearing from me. I'm tremendously sorry, but I was super busy! Well busy with what you may ask? A fashion show of course! I got the opportunity to be a runway model for "Mia Bella" (add them on facebook http://www.miabellatucson.com/) salon in support of SAAF. If you haven't heard of SAAF, don't despair. SAAF or in other words, the southern arizona aids foundation, was created in southern arizona in support against AIDS. Every year, I usually do the AIDS walk around the University of Arizona campus, but this was a totally different experience for a terrific cause. We arrived around 10:30 am, because there was about 12 girls. I got chosen because a guy from my work came up to me and was like "hey do you want to be in a fashion show?" and I was like "hell yeah I want to be in a fashion show!" Now, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The guy who asked me, his girlfriend is the owner of Mia Bella salon. Marylynne is a freaking terrific, talented lady. She has great short black hair and does her makeup awesome. She is one of the few who goes for the bold red lips. I love lip colors on people. In fact, today I am sporting bright pink lipstick. Lip colors just make you look more alive. You know what I'm saying? So anywho back to where I was...about 5 other people from our work were asked to do it so we got to be all together and hang out during the long day. I was asked to open up the show which I was super psyched about because they really like my runway walk! BAM! So I was one of the first to get my hair and makeup done. I will post pictures of this whole experience so that you can actually get a visual of what I looked like. Oh and everyone else of course. I was so excited going around with my camera snapping pictures because I was like "THIS IS FOR MY FASHION BLOG!" I met a bunch of great new friends and I was actually the jokester of the crew, which was nice when everyone is laughing at your funny "runway walks" or your stupid jokes that you come up with. So my hair and makeup got done around like 1ish and then basically it was sit around till 6. But I started on some french homework. Let me emphasize that a little more...I started on my french homework. You see there were these really hott guy models in our crew. One of them was even an Ambercrombie model and was not afraid to bring let us know either. Show off. I was all like "Yeah, they found me after one of the Victoria Secret fashion shows hahaha ;D" I WISH! And well these boys were really distracting because they had their shirts off with an AIDS ribbon painted on their chests. Don't worry I got pictures of that too! When you are actually on the runway and about 500 people are just staring at you...WOW it's an amazing feeling. Our runway was a T shape and it had lights all around the sides. I thought I did pretty dang good, but you don't know until you see huh? Well apparently there is a video of us doing it and if the guy from my work posts it up I will post it for you guys to judge my walk and such. There was some really cool outfits and hairdos. There was this one performance where a pretend Michael Jackson sung, beat it! I know it was SOOOOOO COOOL!! I freaking love Michael Jackson! Isn't he just the best artist of all time?! But I was like this is the best thing in the world so I stood up and started dancing....all by myself. ha i don't care though. anyways I have to head to class. instead of a fashion tip for the day I posted something a little more meaningful to me. Oh and the clothes MIA BELLA is sporting is all from this awesome boutique right off of university boulevard named GRAND CENTRAL. (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.myspace.com%2Fgrandcentralclothing&h=910eb)
I'm going to put up the link so that if you feel passionate about donating towards something that is still effecting our world today then, please I beg you donate. Even if it is just $1.00, or $.10 anything will help in the fight against AIDS. So get inspi[red] and donate. http://www.saaf.org/donate.php
